Altar Servers
The primary role of the altar server is to assist the Priest in the celebration of the Mass. It is a great privilege to serve at the altar, therefore servers have a solemn responsibility to do their assigned duties with dignity and reverence. Altar servers also model good liturgical participation. To become an altar server is a commitment and an honour. All people of good faith who have had their First Communion and desire to serve are encouraged to serve.
Catholic Mom's Group
Catholic Mom's Group is a ministry geared towards uplifting the vocation of motherhood. Come and be part of an encouraging and supportive community of women and go deeper in your faith life. It really does take a village to raise children and as moms, we are not meant to figure it out all on our own. We have each other! Fellowship, connect and pray with catholic mom's in the parish; this group is actively meeting on a monthly basis. Children's Liturgy
Children's Liturgy at St. Joseph the Worker Parish is available to children from Kindergarten to Grade 2 who have not yet made their First Communion. Our program runs in conjunction with the Liturgical Readings of each Mass.
Parents are asked to bring their children to the Parish Hall prior to the 9:00 a.m. Sunday mass. Children will be returned to their parents, who should be seated in the reserved section of the church, before the Gospel reading.
Choir
The St. Joseph the Worker Parish Choir consists of parishioners with a wide variety of musical talents who share a of love of praising God through song. We are always welcoming new members and while musical experience is helpful, it is not necessary. The choir meets weekly on Thursday evenings to practice.
Couples for Christ
Couples for Christ (CFC) works for and with Catholic, married couples who want to deepen their faith. They provide support for one another and focus on reviving their relationship with God and responding to the call to holiness through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Membership with CFC begins with a couple's participation in the Christian Life Program, an interactive faith formation program, designed to help couples to discover the essentials of the faith and the sense of their vocation to marriage and family life.
CFC welcomes all Catholic, married couples and their families to get involved in their various ministries.

Lectors
St. Joseph the Worker Parish welcomes all parishioners who are interested in becoming lectors.
Lectors are those who recite the readings of the Mass to the congregation. Lectors are required at all masses.
Men's Group - That Man Is You
That Man is You is a men's group focused on the leadership role of men in the modern world. The program harmonizes current social and medical science with the teachings of the Catholic Church and the wisdom of the saints to develop the vision of man fully alive!
This has proven to be a very powerful program for men of all ages. Registration is free and has been running Thursday mornings at 6:00 am in the parish hall.

Ministers of Holy Communion
Ministers of Holy Communion aid in the Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist at each Mass. They help to distribute the Eucharist to the members of the congregation. St. Joseph the Worker Parish welcomes all parishioners who are interested in participating in this ministry.
Oshawa Catholic Chaplaincy
The Oshawa Catholic Chaplaincy is a faith-filled community of university and college students in Oshawa, Ontario. As a Catholic chalpaincy we wish to give all interested students a spiritual family that emulates the love of Christ. We provide opportunities for fellowship, catechesis, service and the Sacraments while accompanying students throughout their post-secondary journey. Seniors' Group
The Seniors' Group at St. Joseph the Worker Parish gathers weekly in the Parish Hall. Join in for an afternoon of cards and fellowship.
Serra Club
Serra is a Catholic lay organization for the promotion of vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life, the affirmation of vocations, and the spiritual development of its members. Today, there are more than 1109 Serra clubs in 46 countries with a total membership of more than 19,000 men, women and permanent deacons on six continents.
Serrans are lay Catholics – men and women of all ages and from all walks of life who are dedicated to promote and foster vocations.
Serra International (“Serra”) is formally recognized by the Holy See as the global lay apostolate for vocations in the Catholic Church.
Squires
The Columbian Squires is the official youth organization of the Knights of Columbus. Squires is dedicated to promoting service and the Catholic faith, while providing opportunities for fun and leadership training to young Catholic men. The Squires program also strives to give young men the spiritual and moral guidance that they need to succeed in life. Catholic young men between the ages of 10 and 18 are eligible for membership.

The Catholic Women’s League of Canada is a national organization rooted in gospel values calling its members to holiness through service to the people of God.

St. Joseph the Worker Parish is supported by the Knights of Columbus Council 9989.
The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic family fraternal service organization with 1.6 million members. It provides members and their families with volunteer and fundraising opportunities in service of the Catholic Church, their communities, families and young people.
Catholic men 18 years of age and older are eligible for membership.
