First Holy Communion

The Holy Eucharist is "the source and summit" of the Christian life. The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1324-1327).

Registration packages are available at our schools (St. Joseph & St. Anne). If your child is attending virtual, public, other Catholic school or in grade 3 and up please pick up a registration package at the parish.

The Sacraments and sacramental preparation are not school activities, rather are church activities.  For this reason, 1st communion should take place in the Catholic Church, which you are registered to and where you are attending Mass on a regular basis, or the parish in which boundaries you live within.  If you attend Mass at another parish, we kindly ask you to register at that parish.

To register your child for 1st reconciliation and 1st communion preparation we ask you to attend the MANDATORY parent information meeting on WEDNESDAY 4 OCTOBER 2023 @ 7PM AT ST JOSEPH THE WORKER PARISH.   You can register your child at that meeting by submitting the following on that evening:

  • Completed registration form (see attached form)
  • Copy of your child’s baptismal certificate
  • Registration fee of $50 (Cash & Cheque only)

Please note: Completed registrations forms will ONLY be accepted at this meeting; incomplete registration packages will not be accepted.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact the parish at 905-432-2300 or email
